Frequently Asked Questions

How does an out of network provider work with insurance?
After wet with together, you pay my flat fee (or whatever we have worked out in advance) I will provide you a bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Then, insurance just sends you a check! My services are “out of network “ so I’m your benefits statement, look for what you’re deductible is out of network.

Can I get my exercise classes reimbursed?
Yes! We have the same order of events as a normal PT visit with you sending the bill in to your insurance

How do I get referred to you?
In Montana, you don’t need a referral for physical therapy! You know your body, so if you need something, you don’t have to go through middle man!

What c can u expect from my pelvic floor evaluation?
First, we will talk about your symptoms, why you are coming to see me. I will ask soooo many questions about your bowel, bladder abs sexual function. If at any time you are uncomfortable, we stop! If we are in person, there is typically some strength testing of your hip, legs and ab muscles. Depending on your concerns and comfort level, there may be an internal exam. During this, you will have a mirror and we evaluate how your pelvic floor muscles work. I always do a lot of education on what muscles and organs are involved and what exactly is happening in your body. I will likely provide a few exercise exercises for homework and maybe some activities to test out . If we chose to not do an internal examination in the clinic, but agree that it will be helpful, I instruct you on how to do an internal evaluation on your own at home.

Can we do telehealth PT?
Yes! Especially for rural areas or people who travel frequently, telehealth is a great option for physical therapy. I am licensed in Montana and California and provide care to patients in those states currently if you are in a different state and interested in my service services, please contact me.

Is telehealth PT still safe? I don’t want anyone seeing my visits

Yes. Our telehealth visits over Zoom are secure and any communication is encrypted for safety. We always follow HIPAA privacy procedures, and do everything to make you feel comfortable.

What does a physical therapy visit for orthopedic conditions look like?
The evaluation always involves an extensive discussion about your symptoms. What you have tried and your goals. If it’s in person, we typically do hands-on evaluation to test your strength mobility and what may reproduce or resolve your symptoms. If this is a telehealth evaluation, I will instruct you on motions and activities to do for me to evaluate your bodies movement through the zoom camera. After discussing our findings, I like to provide a few activities to start us working towards your goals. I want our homework to always fit into your current lifestyle and work toward your individual goals.

How many visits does it usually take to make people better?

Depending on how long you have had this condition, how irritable your symptoms are there is a large variability and how long it takes. I like us to set reasonable goals that we both agree are helpful to your life that can be accomplished in approximately four visits.
